Casey Anthony Verdict – It Is What It Is

It is over. Casey Anthony is now free – she can only possibly get very little time for lying - having been found not guilty of killing daughter, 2 year-old Caylee. While I am not a lawyer, I know enough to know that this does not mean she is innocent. Only that there was not enough evidence to convict her. The smoking gun was missing, not because Casey was smart enough to get rid of it, but because time and circumstances were on her side. The elements had long compromised much of the evidence when the Caylee’s body was found.

Beautiful little Caylee was just unfortunate to be born of this narcissistic, pathological liar who was just not fit to be a mother. A mother who would go partying while her child was missing. I have kids, and I know just how freaked out their mother would get if they missed for as little as ten minutes, even when they were much older than Caylee. I don’t care if Casey was physically or sexually abused by her father and brother as she alleged. All I know is that she was caught in multiple lies, including lying to police about her missing child, which renders her unbelievable anyway. And that little Caylee deserved to live her life fully into adult-hood and beyond.

Now Casey can even cash in on the unfortunate tragedy given the high profile nature of this trial. Nothing can stop her. Here’s expert opinion on this:

There will be no legal restrictions on Anthony profiting on the details of this case, cashing in on deals for movies, books or interviews, analysts say.

Because of her acquittal, so-called Son of Sam laws -- laws designed to keep criminals from earning money from their crimes -- do not apply, they say. Original story here.

As they say, it is what it is. We cannot change the facts now, much as we would love to. My prayers go to the little angel's soul.

Update: Casey will now get four years jail time, one year for each lie she told to law enforcement. The judge did not agree with her defense lawyer's assertion that the lies should count as one offense since they were told one time. In all, she will most likely serve less than one year due to time already served and then she can continue with her partying lifestyle and perhaps even make some financial gain from her now notorious nay celebrity status.
