Here are 7 steps you can take to meet people of the personality, character and interests that match your needs:

1. Decide the kind of relationship you want. This is important, as different dating services are tailored to meet certain needs. And, this includes popular dating sites that serve a general clientele.

2. If you seek are seeking a serious relationship or marriage your needs will be best served by a matchmaking service. If you just want someone to be with and possibly get serious down the road, a dating site might be the best for you. If you want casual sex and encounters of the erotic nature, an adult dating site is the thing for you.

3. Do you have a passion that your partner must share for you to be happy? If so, you have two choices 1) you can go with a popular dating site and include it in your profile and as one of your search criteria, or 2) you can go with a specialty or niche dating site that serves your interest group.

4. Once you’ve found your choice of dating site, sign up for a free trial. If the dating site has no free trial period, find one that does. The reason for this is to find out if the site really offers what it promises, and whether it is a good fit for you. In fact, it might be a good idea to sign up with more than just one site.
